satchel's pizza & new friends.

Friday, January 11th (yea...I'm way behind in blogging) was the first night Clay & I had dinner with people our age!  We met up with three couples...all married...which was very different than our usual groups of fabulous single friends! Long story short, two of the girls were monumental in hooking me up with my job so we all met at this local pizza joint called Satchel's. Now...for all you Lilly's lovers in Raleigh, it's a VERY close second but Lilly's will always be our #1 (the crust is just too good to beat.)  We ordered a couple salads to split and each couple ordered a large pizza...way to much to finish!  It was such a nice night to hang out and get to know new people!  They reminded me so much of our friends and Clay & I talked about having such mixed emotions with starting over together. It was the first time I really missed everyone, but in a weird and appreciative way. 

As I was walking around snapping photos, this lovely group below was sitting in a bus - yep, a bus - eating dinner and having a great time. They are preview staffers for UF and were such a sweet and friendly group of college students! Some immediately starting following the blog (in hopes they would see their picture MUCH sooner than this...sorry guys!) and following me on Twitter. What a great group UF has!

University of Florida Preview Staffers

After dinner, some of the guys were wanting to go out downtown for a little bit and they (with some resistance from tired wives) decided to take us to Jack's where they used to hang out in college. Seen in the pictures below, it's super small but very cozy. There was good entertainment with people battling over the Jukebox songs and it reminded me a lot of Slims...but 1/3 of the size!

 

All in all, it was a successful evening of new friends & great food!  We've been back twice...and it's safe to say it's one of our faves so far.
